Daily Journal – Apr 1, 2017

I was actually contemplating whether I want to write a journal today. One of the reason was because it’s a Saturday. But then there is also no excuse not to write.

So what did I do today? Actually nothing much.

I spent the whole of my morning until early afternoon playing Horizon Zero Dawn. I managed to reach level 34 and in terms of the main campaign, I think I’m pretty far along too. I have already reach the stage where I found out about the Faro robots and how they destroyed the world. Put it this way, I have finished the mission involving me visiting Maker’s End.

So far, I liked the game. With regards to the visual, I love the graphics. Guerrilla Games definitely score 10/10 for their effort there.  In terms of storyline, I quite like it but I also feel sad that the in-game characters are so ignorant of the old world, where technology were once everywhere. And I hate the character Ted Faro especially, for destroying all the knowledge. But that’s just how it is. It’s the same in the real world.

Then in the afternoon, I had my lunch at home before making my way to Jurong Point just to walk around. I was actually planning to go Jurong Point and have my lunch at my usual restaurants but on the way to the bus stop, I saw my mom and sister coming back with my lunch. So I made a u-turn back. Once I’m at Jurong Point, I walked in circles. I’m not there to do shopping of any sort. I’m there just to walk and enjoy the scene.

I also went to buy a Venti-sized Cold Brew from Starbucks. I got to say, it’s been a long while since I last had Starbucks. I thought it might be a good time for me to do so. And I do need the caffeine to perk me up.

I went home at around 3.50pm and then went ahead to start doing some programming work for my client. At about 5.35pm, I left my house again after changing clothes.

I made my way back to Jurong Point to catch Ghost in the Shell movie with my friends. But first, we had dinner at Hot Tomato, a western-style cafe. I ordered a Mixed Grill.

Mixed grill is basically consisting of the following items:

  1. Pork Chop
  2. Chicken Chop
  3. Sausage
  4. Spaghetti
  5. Some lettuce and tomatoes on the side

After the dinner, we made our way to the Cinema.

Ghost in the Shell movie was actually pretty decent. It had most of the scene from the original anime. The actress, Scarlett Johansson, did a pretty good job at portraying Major Motoko Kusanagi. However, I find fault with the fact that the director took liberty with the storyline and certain scenes. They are not very very accurate to the original source material. Either way, in terms of visuals and presentation, the movie does it pretty well.

After the movie, I made my way home.

Here I conclude my journal for today.
