Daily Journal – Jul 14, 2017

This is my 102nd journal.

Woohooo!

I finally finished the core aspect of the SIT. There’s just left a few very minor test cases to re-test but those are subjected to further discussion on whether the re-test is warranted. So for the lunch today, I went to meet my friend at Jem. After that, because of the heavy rain, I went to Starbucks to do my work and have a Grande-sized Cold Brew. I stayed there for an hour before uploading the document that I was working on to the company cloud.

Then I made my way to the customer office. While I’m there, I didn’t do much. I was attempting to generate the audit reports to send to the testers but then for some reason, the MSSQL server kept getting stuck at 30% CPU usage. There is a suspicion that it was due to the virtual machine being prepared wrongly or there the query itself caused the query engine to wait for lock release. A support ticket had been logged with the product manufacturer.

Other than, another good news is that I accepted the offer given by ST Electronics for a Software Developer role. I will be working with .NET platform. Out of my comfort zone but it’s ok. A programmer should be a polygon these days. And I only accepted the offer after they agreed to me taking the month long holiday in August. Because mentally, I’m just not ready to go back to work so soon after quitting. I need go on a holiday first to clear my head and reset myself in order to learn new things and do my best work.

Here I conclude my journal for today.
