Journal #321

As of 5.45pm today, I met my goal of writing 10,000 words over three days. I will give myself a pat on my back.

However, it turns out the story is not even done. I will probably stretch it out until it becomes a novella. I’m not sure yet since I’m not someone who plans every detail of what he’s working on. And I won’t want to rush through the story and leave behind a trail of poorly developed characters or world. I will strive to do my best to deliver a good piece of work.

For those who are curious, it is a story set in late twenty-second century. It’s an era when humans have pretty much spread themselves across the solar system, establishing colonies everywhere. Yet life isn’t as good. There are constant struggles that we faced everyday even on twenty-first century Earth.

I am writing this piece of story as part-love and part-survival focusing on two main characters with totally different backgrounds. It shows the readers how they lived their lives until the day apocalypse found Earth and what they do then. I dare say it is pretty dark and twisted. It is story most people (at least the ones I know) won’t be able to tolerate or stomach the descriptions in it. And no, I’m not going to tone it down for the sake of your heart. It’s not my fault you can’t accept or tolerate something.

Anyway, when I’m done with the story, I will publish it up on my blog for anyone who wants to read or don’t, depending how how much you tolerate extensive description of torture, abuse, gore and many others.

The choice is yours.

I will go back to writing now.

And I’m dreading going back to work tomorrow.
